Jack Bauer is truly one of America’s greatest heroes. The man has saved the city of Los Angeles six times from annihilation and recently saved Washington D.C. Jack earned a degree in English Literature from from UCLA and also a masters degree in Criminology. Jack would then go on to join LA’s SWAT team and eventually the CIA, where Jack conducted a number of top secret missions. The most significant of these was Operation: Nightfall, an attempt to assassinate Kosovo war criminal Victor Drazen. The attempt was considered an attempt even though most of Jack’s team was killed. This operation would come to haunt Jack later as both Victor Drazen and his former teammate Stephen Saunders would come back looking for revenge.
After Nightfall Jack was recruited to join the newly formed Counter Terrorist Unit in Los Angeles and was made head of field operations. His first major test was when an assassination attempt was suspected against then Senator David Palmer. The plot was revealed to be masterminded by the Drazens, with help from Jack closest ally at CTU Nina Myers. After saving Palmer’s life, the Drazens kidnapped Jack’s daughter Kim in order to lure Jack to a dockside trap. Nina was told to call Jack and tell him his daughter was killed. Jack stormed to the dock and killed everyone inside, including the entire Drazen clan. Nina attempted to flee CTU but was stopped by Jack’s wife Teri, who Nina killed.
Since then Jack has had to deal with 5 other major threats to Los Angeles including a multiple nuclear devices and biological attacks. He got revenge against Nina Myers, had to fight his old mentor Christopher Henderson, leave CTU after becoming addicted to heroin and eventually had to fake his own death to avoid arrest by the Chinese after a botched mission at their embassy. Jack didn’t stay “dead” for long as a number of his allies were killed including CTU agent Michelle Dessler and ex-President David Palmer. Jack uncovered the biggest conspiracy of his career as it was soon revealed that current President Charles Logan was actually helping Russian separatists initiate attacks with Sentox nerve gas and attempt to assassinate the Russian president. Jack finally confronted Logan, and while unable to get a confession, planted a bug on Logan that recorded him incriminating himself to his wife Martha. When seemingly everything was going to work out for Jack, he was abducted by Chinese agents and sent to a prison in China.
Jack returned to the US when a terrorist group demanded Jack Bauer alive so they could torture and kill him for killing their leader’s brother. Jack was flown back to the US but managed to escape from the terrorists (by biting a guy in the neck) and witnessing a nuclear detonation in the heart of LA. He eventually learned his father and brother were part of the conspiracy that killed David Palmer and controlled Charles Logan. A clusterfuck of events occurs including the Chinese wanting a Russian defense circuit board and Russia threatening to attack the US. Jack takes out his father and the Chinese agent Cheng on an offshore oil rig. Jack then goes into hiding.
Jack arrives in Africa after traveling around the world. He stays with his Carl Benton at his school. Jack seems to be a danger magnet as forces under the command of Benjamin Juma attempt to kidnap the boys of the school. Jack fights them off and leads the boys to the US embassy after Carl steps on a landmine and distracts Juma’s men with a sacrifice. At the embassy Jack agrees to give himself up to a senate subpoena in exchange for the boys getting flown out of Sangala.
Jack arrives in Washington D.C. to testify at a senate sub-comittee hearing about the actions of CTU, now disbanded. The hearing is interrupted by the FBI when Tony Almeida, thought dead, is allegedly heading up an attack against the capitol. Jack agrees to help and finds that Tony has been working with CTU agents Chloe O’Brien and Bill Buchanan to investigate corrupt officials in newly elected president Allison Taylor’s administration. Meanwhile, the US is attempting to overthrow Juma’s control of Sangala but the attacks are Juma’s attempt to blackmail President Taylor into stopping the invasion. Juma himself eventually comes to D.C. and attacks the White House. Jack and the secret service repel the attack and learn the real mastermind is Jonas Hodges of Starkwood, a defense contractor. Starkwood manufactured a bioweapon in Sangala and are attempting to take over the government. Jack gains control of the bioweapon but is exposed trying to seal a leak. There is no cure and it seems like Jack is going to die. Jack is determined to finish the fight and with help from FBI agent Renee Walker, finds out that Tony actually is a terrorist and is attempting to kill Al Wilson, the man behind David Palmer’s assassination, Charles Logan, Graem and Phillip, etc. Both men are taken into custody and Jack goes to the hospital to die. However, his daughter Kim is in Washington D.C. attempting to see him and a potential experimental stem cell cure could save Jack’s life.
Advanced intelligence says that if Jack survives he’s off to New York City.
