New “Rats of NIMH” Movie in the Works
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Paramount is planning on making a new version of “Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH”, which was made into The Secret of NIMH in 1982 by animation master Don Bluth. The story follows a family of mice who must move from their home when a farmer starts plowing and they discover a society of former lab rats who are super intelligent.
The new version is expected to be live action mixed with CG similar to the recent G-Force or Alvin and the Chipmunks but hopefully more serious and complex since the book it’s based on is both of those. A script is going to be worked on by Neil Burger, who has worked on movies like Ed Norton’s “The Illusionist” and Tim Robbins’ “The Lucky Ones”.
So speaking of The Secret of NIMH, what would you say if I told you you could watch the whole Don Bluth movie right here, right now. Hopefully, “I can see the video right below this paragraph” because it is. Thanks Hulu!
