Battle at the Box Office: 9/21

Kids ruled the box office this weekend as the newest animated movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs took first place at the box office this weekend with $30.1 million. The movie got great reviews from a number of critics and was also helped by 3D and Imax sales. The Informant! came in at number two this weekend with $10.5 million. Dropping 57% was Tyler Perry: ICDBABM, which took the third place spot with just over $10 million. Jennifer’s Body came in at a lackluster fifth place with $6.8 million. Analysts are blaming the advertising campaign which pretty much hung the entire success of the film on Megan Fox. I’m kind of hoping everyone realized how horrible Diablo Cody is. Rounding out the top 5 was Love Happens with Jennifer Anniston and Aaron Eckhart which came in at $8.4 million.
