Battle at the Box Office 10/4

Riding a wave of extremely positive hype and reviews, The Social Network easily took home to top spot at the box office this weekend.  The film took in $22.4 million making it the third best opening for David Fincher.  Legend of the Guardians actually overtook last week’s number one, Wall Street 2, to take second with $10.8 million while Wall Street went down to third with just over $10 million.  It was disastrous openings for the other two new movies, Case 39 and Let Me In, with Case 39 surprisingly topping Let Me In even though the former got horrible reviews.  Case 39 took seventh with $5.4 million while Let Me In took in $5.1 million.  Devil and Alpha and Omega rounded out the top ten.
