Battle at the Box Office 11/15

Megamind remained at the top of the heap over the weekend with $30 million, bringing it’s total to almost $90 million.  Second place went to newcomer Unstoppable.  The Tony Scott disaster thriller took in $23.5, making it Denzel Washington’s eight movie in a row with a $20 million+ opening weekend.  It’s also about the same amount as Scott’s Taking of Pelham 123 made last year.  Due Date dropped down to third place, making another $15.5 million but having an almost 50% drop off.  Other new releases Skyline and Morning Glory both had lackluster openings.  Skyline came in fourth with $11.6 million while Morning Glory was at fifth with $9.6 million.  With Halloween long gone, Paranormal Activity 2 and Saw 3D are both rapidly falling out of the top ten.  The biggest drop of the week was actually For Colored Girls, which dropped almost 65% from the previous weekend and falling to sixth.  They barely managed to hold onto the eighth and ninth place spots.  Of course, everything is going to get absolutely destroyed by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows this upcoming weekend.
