Battle at the Box Office 7/11
Transformers: Dark of the Moon maintained it’s box office dominance for at least one more week with another $47 million, down 51% from it’s crazy opening weekend. Transformers is up to$261 million domestically and $384 million internationally. Horrible Bosses opened in a solid second place with $28 million, continuing this year’s string of successful R rated comedies. Horrible Bosses opened better than Bridesmaids but behind Bad Teacher. Zookeeper opened in third with $21 million, better than the last Kevin James movie (The Dilemna) but well below the spirtual predecessor to Zookeeper, Paul Blart. Cars 2 dropped down to fourth place with $15.2 million and Bad Teacher rounded out the top 5 with $9 million. Not much else, movement wise, on the charts. The big question for this weekend is how huge will Harry Potter be, especially since it’s in 3D?
