November Movie Preview

November is pretty much back to back blockbusters, kicking things off with the love letter to video gamers that is Wreck It Ralph and moving on to the latest Bond, the last Twilight movie (thank god it’s over!) and much more.  Check out everything that is coming out this month below.

November 2nd

  • Wreck It Ralph: John C Reilly stars as Ralph, the villain of a classic arcade game who is fed up with being a bad guy and leaves his game to try and become a hero in another.  Expect tons of cameos from classic video game characters like Bowser, Zangief, Pac-Man, M. Bison and Q-bert.
  • The Man with the Iron Fists: RZA directs, wrote and stars in this martial arts action flick where a group of warriors invade a small Chinese village in search of gold and they are willing to kill each other to get it.
  • Flight: Denzel Washington stars as a pilot who makes a miraculous landing following a catastrophic failure but then must face down the relentless investigation and media attention afterwards.  It’s Robert Zemeckis’ first live action movie since Cast Away.

November 9th

  • Skyfall:James Bond is back and is assumed dead after a mission goes wrong which puts a hard drive full of MI6 agent identities falls into the hands of a ruthless villain, played by Javier Bardem.

November 16th

  • The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 2: The final chapter in the Twilight movie series, Bella is now a vampire and is raising her vampire baby, which she and her family must protect from the vampire overlords, the Volturi.

November 21st

  • Life of Pi: A boy shipwrecked makes an unlikely friend in a tiger who shares his lifeboat and goes on a fantastic adventure.  Directed by Ang Lee.
  • Red Dawn: A remake of the 80’s classic starring Chris Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson where a group of teens must wage a guerilla war against North Korean invaders, who take down America’s defenses with an experimental new weapon.
  • Rise of the Guardians: Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, Jack Frost and the Sandman must band together to fight the threat of Pitch, a villain who wants to corrupt the dreams of the children of the world and turn them into the nightmares to give him power.
  • Silver Linings Playbook:Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence meet while in a mental institution and drama ensues.

November 30th

  • Killing Them Softly: Brad Pitt stars as mob enforcer Jackie Cogan, who is called in to investigate a heist at a mob run poker game.
