Carrie Trailer

Attached to it’s fellow horror remake, Evil Dead, this weekend is the first full trailer for Kimberly Pierce’s remake of Carrie, although they’ve said it’s not so much a remake of the original movie, but more of a “reimagining” of Stephen King’s original story.  Chloe Moretz stars as Carrie and Julianne Moore is her psychotic, religous zealous mother.  It seems to follow the same basic plot of the original; Carrie is tormented at school, learns she has psychic powers and uses them to try and inflate her social standing, with things coming to a head at prom.  It looks like when her powers are fully unleashed, Carrie will be an unstoppable force and Julianne Moore looks super creepy as her mother, locking her in a closet daily to pray and other things that will probably not win her Mother of the Year.   The movie was originally supposed to be out around this time but was pushed back to October, facing direct competition from Paranormal Activity and any other horror movies released that month.  Check out the trailer below.
