Robocop Trailer

I think it’s safe to say that Robocop is one of our all time favorite movies here at Everything Action and one of the best action movies, period.  So, needless to say, we were a little wary when a remake was announced.  After a decent showing at Comic Con, the first trailer is finally here.  Joel Kinnaman, of The Killing, takes on the role of Alex Murphy, who is gravely injured and not completely killed like Peter Weller in the original, and become the first in OminCorp’s line of cyborg police officers.  Murphy’s humanity starts to override the computer systems in the suit, causing him to be at odds with Omnicorp’s agenda.  Abbie Cornish co-stars as Murphy’s wife and Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman and Michael Keaton all co-star as well, so the cast is pretty great if nothing else.  It feels a lot like the Total Recall remake in that it’s replacing the uber violence with slick CG, although Total Recall (2012) was surprisingly decent.  I’m not totally sold on Kinnaman or the look of the suit but we’ll have to wait until February of next year to see how it totally works out.  Check out the trailer below.
