Michael Arndt leaves Star Wars Episode VII: The Toy Story 3 screenwriter was signed on to write the screenplay for Star Wars Episode VII but has left the project and now JJ Abrams and Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan will be writing the script. The movie is due out in 2015

Track list released for Arrested Development sountrack: Get the whole list by hitting the link but basically, if there was an original piece of music on the show, we’ll be getting a full blown version of it on the 42 track album coming on November 19th.
Will Smith starring in sci fi movie “Selling Time”: The movie will be a Groundhog Dayesque sci fi movie where Smith’s character is given an option to relive the worst day of his life in exchange for another seven years of life.
RIP Hal Needham: Legendary stuntman Hal Needham passed away this week at age 82. He did stunts on numerous classic westerns and then in the 70’s, went behind the camera and directed Smokey and the Bandit. He directed Reynolds again with Hooper, Smokey and the Bandit II and The Cannonball Run but my sentimental favorite Needham movie is the ridiculous, awesomely cheesy Megaforce:
Monuments Men coming in February 2014: Last week we learned Monuments Men was getting bumped to 2014, due to post production not being where it needs to be according to star George Clooney. Now we learned that the movie will be out on February 7 next year, bumping Robocop to the 12th and going against The Lego Movie.
New details about Ant Man and Black Panther: Marvel producer Kevin Feige was doing the rounds for Thor: The Dark World and revealed new details about Ant Man and Black Panther. Feige described Ant Man as a “heist movie” and that we’ll get casting news by the end of the year. He also confirmed a Black Panther movie is definitely in development but it’s not clear when it will definitely move forward into production.
Netflix getting into original movies: Netflix has had some pretty great success with their original series like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black and they announced they will be developing original movies as well. They will start out with documentaries but could eventually get into scripted films.
Sherlock is back in January: The third season of the fantastic BBC show will be airing on PBC in the US in January of next year. It will be the typical three hour and half long episodes like the previous two series.
Stephen Lang back for all three Avatar sequels: Despite being pretty definitively dead, the evil marine Miles Quartitch will apparently be back in the THREE upcoming sequels to Avatar, played again by Stephen Lang.
Jackie Chan and Sean William Scott starring in Skiptrace: The movie will find Chan as a Hong Kong detective whose daughter is kidnapped and the only one who can help him find her is a wiseass American gambler. The movie will be directed by Paranorman’s Sam Fell, making his live action film directing debut.
Tim Burton apparently close to directing Beetlejuice sequel: Originally only supposed to be a producer, apparently Tim Burton is close to signing on to direct the sequel to one of his most beloved movies, Beetlejuice. Michael Keaton is also supposed to reprise his role as the “ghost with the most”.
