- Deadpool movie may be close to production: Director Tim Miller confirmed there’s a script that just needs to get approved by Fox and then the movie can be greenlit to go into production. Ryan Reynolds is set to play the Merc with a Mouth.
- Sleepaway Camp may get a reboot: A cult 80’s horror movie, mostly for it’s batshit insane ending, Sleepaway Camp might be the latest horror reboot, with Fox and New Line Cinema interested in picking up the rights.
- MGM rebooting The Addams Family as an animated movie: MGM is apparently in talks to get a new animated version of The Addams Family into production. They’ve hired Pamela Pettler, screenwriter of Corpse Bride, 9 and Monster House to write a script and it may possibly be closer in tone to the original, darker, 30’s comics by Charles Addams.
- Harrison Ford explains Expendables 3 role: He’ll play Max Drummer, who Ford describes as a leader and the person who may be giving the Expendables their latest mission. He is involved a little bit in the action as well, possibly similar to how Bruce Willis joined in on the final action sequence in Expendables 2.
- Amazing Spider-Man 2 3D trailer debuting with The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug: The first look at Marc Webb’s Amazing Spider-Man sequel will be in front of 3D screenings of The Desolation of Smaug this December. It was also revealed that a Sinister Sixesque group is being assembled for the score including Hans Zimmer and Pharell Williams.
- Olympus has Fallen getting a sequel: The sequel will be called “London Has Fallen” and the main cast will return, including Gerard Butler’s secret service agent, Mike Banning and Aaron Eckhart’s president, who is London for a summit when a new terrorist threat attacks. An MI6 agent will join Banning to stop the attack.
- Walking Dead renewed for a fifth season: Considering it’s the biggest show on TV, AMC dropped the most obvious news in history that they will be renewing the show for a fifth season.
- Trick r Treat 2 announced: At a fan event, Legendary and director Mike Dougherty announced there will be a sequel to the modern Halloween classic. It will keep the anthology setup and the creepy and mysterious Sam will return as the link between the stories.
- Highlander reboot gets a new director: The reboot of the 80’s classic has gone through multiple directors, including Fast & Furious’ Justin Lin but now Cedric Nicolas-Troyan will be directing the movie. Nicolas-Troyan was the visual effects supervisor on Snow White and the Huntsman, among other visual effects work.
- Sam Raimi may direct Army of Darkness 2: Bruce Campbell confirmed that Army of Darkness 2 is definitely on the way and reboot director Fede Alvarez tweeted recently that, as far as he knows, Raimi will direct the sequel. Alvarez will not be back to direct Evil Dead 2 and there’s a chance that movie might not happen according to the screenwriter of the reboot.
- Kevin Tancharoen leaves Mortal Kombat: After two seasons of great web episodes, Mortal Kombat: Legacy director Kevin Tancharoen announced on twitter that he is leaving the Mortal Kombat franchise, which is supposed to include a new movie. There is no word on if Legacy will continue or who will step in to direct the movie.
