- New Fantastic Four Announced: Kate Mara (House of Cards) will be Sue Storm, Michael B. Jordan (That Awkward Moment, Chronicle) will be Johnny Storm, Miles Teller (That Awkward Moment, The Spectacular Now) will be Reed Richards and Jamie Bell (TinTin, King Kong, Jumper) will be Ben Grimm.
- The Lego Movie 2 hitting 2017: Proving itself a critical and commercial juggernaut, the sequel to The Lego Movie will graduate to the prime slot of Memorial Day in 2017.
- “Super Sized R Rated” version of Anchorman 2 hitting select theaters next week: With over 763 new jokes, Anchorman 2 will return to select theaters next week with a new, R rated cut.
- The Raid getting an American remake: Widely considered one of the best action movies of the last few years, The Raid: Redemption is getting an American remake with Patrick Hughes, currently directing Expendables 3, at the helm. The apparently insane sequel to The Raid, The Raid 2: Berndal, is coming in the next month or so.
- Man from UNCLE gets a release date: The Armie Hammer/Henry Cavill remake of the classic 60’s show will arrive on January 16th 2015.
- Original Godzilla coming back to theaters: Rialto Pictures will be releasing the original, Japanese, uncut version of Gojira into select theaters in April, a month before the new Godzilla makes his debut. The version is a new, 60th Anniversary restoration.
- Jai Courtney is Kyle Reese: The Terminator: Genesis cast is finalized with A Good Day to Die Hard and Jack Reacher’s Jai Courtney taking on the role of Kyle Reese. He’ll join Arnold, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor and Jason Clarke as John Connor.
- Jada Pinkett Smith joins Gotham: Smith will play Fish Mooney, a local crime boss who has a number of underlings, including one Oswald Cobblepot.
- Norman Reedus and Djimon Hounsou co-starring in Air: Produced by Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead, Air finds the two actors as the caretakers of a cryostasis facility after an apocalyptic event and they must protect the last remnants of humanity.
- The Simpsons will have an all LEGO episode: In an upcoming episode, The Simpsons will get turned into their brick counterparts, probably in part because a Simpsons set was just released.
- Nike designer says power laces will happen in 2015: Back to the Future 2 may become more of a reality next year as Nike designer Tinker Hatfield revealed that the company would have shoes with “power laces” in 2015.
- Black Widow movie in the works: According to Kevin Feige, there are plans to eventually feature Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow in her own movie sometime in the next phase or two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Black Widow is one of the heroes featured in the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
