Star Wars Episode VII Cast Announced
You can see them assembled above but Disney and Lucasfilm announced the main cast for Star Wars Episode VII today. JJ Abrams will be directing the movie and it will hit theaters at the end of 2015. May 4th has unofficially/officially become Star Wars Day because of the punny “May the 4th be With You”, so everyone was kind of a expecting a title reveal, announcement on or before that date. There still could be something on Sunday, so check our facebook and twitter feeds for the latest. Check out the cast members who will be joining or returning to the galaxy far, far away:
- Mark Hamill is returning as Luke Skywalker
- Carrie Fisher will return as Princess Leia Organa
- Harrison Ford will return as Han Solo and Peter Mayhew will again don the Chewbacca costume
- Kenny Baker will be back to control R2D2 and Anthony Daniels will be back as C3Po
- Adam Driver from Girls is most likely going to be a Sith “Vaderesque” villain
- Oscar Issacs from Inside Llewyn Davis
- Relatively unknown Daisy Ridley
- Master of performance capture Andy Serkis
- Harry Potter and About Time’s Domhnall Gleeson
- Legendary actor Max Von Sydow, who I would guess would most likely be some sort of Imperial villain
- Attack the Block’s John Boyega
