- Tarantino confirms Hateful Eight is back on: Tarantino confirmed at Comic Con last weekend that his next Western, The Hateful Eight, is back on. After the script leaked earlier this year, he said he would not be making the film but it is now set to come out next December.
- More Arrow/Flash casting: Arrow will get JR Ramirez as Wildcat, who will be involved in Laurel’s storyline for season 3 while The Flash will get Kelly Frye as Plastique, who gets the ability to turn anything she touches into explosives due to the STAR Labs explosions. Arrow will also get the Demon’s Head himself, R’as Al Ghul, as the big bad of Season 3, although no one is cast yet.
- Simon West wants to direct Con Air 2: West, after directing Expendables 2, wants to possibly bring back Cameron Poe for a Con Air 2. To make it even crazier, he suggested it should take place in space.
- Alex Kurtzman directing The Mummy: Kurtzman, of Kurtzman and Orci screenwriting fame, will direct the first movie of Universal’s connected Monster universe, The Mummy, which will be a reboot of the franchise.
- Batman: The Animated Series soundtrack available: The fantastic score from Batman: The Animated Series is now available from Watertower Music in six volumes, which you can get on iTunes.
- Kevin Fiege says 3 years between Avengers movies: Avengers: Age of Ultron is next summer but head honcho Kevin Fiege said that Avengers 3 will probably be 2018 and 3 years between Avengers is probably going to be the norm going forward.
- Rob Zombie going to crowdfunding for his next movie: 31 is about a group of people kidnapped by evil clowns and brought to a place called Murder World to be hunted. It’s currently on third tier crowdfunding site, Fanbacked, with various rewards including original art and your name in the credits.
- Primus doing an album of Willy Wonka covers: Les Claypool and co. will be doing an album covering all the songs from the Gene Wilder Willy Wonka movie and have a Wonka themed tour as well, with special matinees for parents to bring kids that will just have the Wonka songs.
- Marvel trademarks Squirrel Girl for a TV or Movie appearance: Squirrel Girl aka Doreen Green may be showing up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the near future, as Marvel has registered a trademark for her character. Rumors are she could show up on Agents of Shield or the Jessica Jones Netflix series. If you aren’t aware, Squirrel Girl is a Great Lakes Avenger who has the power to communicate and control squirrels, which she has used to defeat both Doctor Doom and Thanos single-handedly.
