Strange Magic Trailer
The combined forces of Shakespeare and George Lucas are bringing us the animated movie, Strange Magic, loosely based on A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Starring Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cumming, the movie focuses on a magical land of fairies and a darker magic land of ogres, goblins and trolls who never cross paths, until a magical potion causes “all heck to break loose” and there is kidnappings of princesses and quest to get her back. The movie is also going to be a musical, with cover versions of songs by Kelly Clarkson, Elvis, Heart and Deep Purple, just to name a few (although there’s no sign of the ELO song “Strange Magic”). The world seems interesting but the humor and song choices don’t really lend much confidence. It’s out on January 23rd and you can check out the trailer below.
