Mr. Holmes Trailer

Sir Ian McKellan takes on another iconic role, this time as an aged Sherlock Holmes, in the upcoming Mr. Holmes.  Taking up residence with a mother and her son, Holmes takes up activities like beekeeping and works to solve the final case of his career, which involves a mysterious woman from his past.  It doesn’t seem like it’s going to be as flashy as either recent Sherlock adaptations but it’s Ian McKellan so it will probably be worth keeping an eye on just for that. It’s directed by Bill Condon, who previously directed Gods and Monsters and Dreamgirls and is working on Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast with Emma Watson.  Mr. Holmes is out in June in the UK and will probably arrive in the US sometime in the fall.  Check out the trailer below.
