  • RIP Robert Z’Dar: The cult actor from movies like Maniac Cop, Soultaker, Tango & Cash and Samurai Cop passed away in Pensacola, FL on Monday at age 64.
  • The Americans renewed for a fourth season: FX’s excellent 80’s spy show will be back for a fourth season next year.
  • Gene Simmons working with WWE Films: Simmons is working with WWE films and has created his own label called Erebus Pictures, which will put out three movies, the first of which will be Temple, where a group of operatives are stalked by something at a remote military compound.
  • Stephen Amell cast as Casey Jones: For Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, Stephen Amell aka Oliver Queen/Arrow will be the Turtles sports equipment wielding ally Casey Jones when the movie hits on June 3, 2016.
  • Pride and Prejudice and Zombies coming in 2016: After multiple star and director shuffling, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies will finally arrive February 19th, 2016 and star current Cinderella, Lily James.
  • Screenwriter hired for Metal Gear Solid movie: British screenwriter Jay Basu has been hired to write the script for the Metal Gear Solid movie.  Basu most recently wrote the script for Monsters: Dark Continent.
  • Fast and Furious 8 may be set in NYCWe’re able to see Furious 7 right now but Vin Diesel teased that Kurt Russell will be back in a big way for Furious 8 and that movie could by set in NYC.
  • Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje cast as Killer Croc: The Lost alum has been cast as Killer Croc in Suicide Squad and we also learned that movie is going to be set between Man of Steel and Batman v Superman.
  • Two added to Flash/Arrow spin-off: Adding to the already jam packed Arrow/Flash spin-off show, Arthur Darvill of Doctor Who will Rip Hunter, the son time traveling son of Booster Gold, and Ciara Renee, who previously was on Law & Order: SVU, will play Hawkgirl.
  • Mulan live action reboot coming soon: Beauty and the Beast is the next reboot from Disney but now they are planning on rebooting Mulan as well, with this new version possibly being slightly more realistic and closer to the historical inspiration for the story.  They are also planning on a live action reboot of Winnie the Pooh.
  • Animated Batman 66 movie coming next year: Adam West and Burt Ward will voice Batman and Robin in a new animated movie set in the Batman 66 universe.
  • Heroes Reborn gets Masi Oka: Heroes’ time traveling superhero, Hiro Nakamura, will return when the show is rebooted this fall, joining fellow returning cast member Jack Coleman’s Noah Bennett.
  • Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine “one more time”: James Mangold and Hugh Jackman have both confirmed that Jackman’s final time in the X-Men universe will be in the upcoming sequel to The Wolverine, which set to arrive in 2017.
  • Groundhog Day musical coming in 2017: A Broadway musical version of the Bill Murray classic is coming in 2017 with most of the team who adapted Matilda into a Broadway musical.  Groundhog Day will start previews in January 2017 and open officially in March 2017.
  • Fox is making a Play-Doh movie: As literally everything is getting turned into a TV or movie, Fox is trying to get in on some of that Lego money by turning Play-Doh into a movie, with Bridesmaids/Ghostbusters director Paul Feig in talks to direct.
  • House of Cards renewed for a fourth season: President Underwood’s reign of terror will continue in 2016 as another 13 episodes have been ordered by Netflix, to debut in 2016.
  • Full House may return to Netflix: Speaking of Netflix, they are planning on bringing back Full House in a sequel series called “Fuller House” which would star Candace Cameron Bure as DJ Tanner and Andrea Barber as Kimmy Gibbler. John Stamos, Dave Coulier and Bob Saget would most likely make guest appearances on the new show.
  • Bob Odenkirk and David Cross creating new comedy show for Netflix: Also in Netflix news, a spiritual successor to Mr Show is coming as Bob Odenkirk and David Cross have a new show called “With Bob and David” that will be four half hour episodes and an hour long behind the scenes special.
  • Netflix gets supernatural show Montauk: In the final bit of Netflix news, they have ordered an 8 episode series called Montauk, which is set in the 80’s and is about the disappearance of a young boy but the search uncovers a government conspiracy.B
  • Tom Hardy signed on for three more Mad Max movies: Mad Max: Fury Road is out in a little over a month and, depending on how well it does, we could see Tom Hardy as Max in up to three more movies in the series.
  • Bruce Lee estate sues Ip Man 3: We found out a week or two ago that Ip Man 3 would feature a CG Bruce Lee but now the Bruce Lee estate is filing a lawsuit blocking the use of this CG version.  The IP Man producers were working with Robert Lee, Bruce Lee’s brother, but there is apparently a dispute about who owns the rights to use Lee’s image.
  • Deadpool is rated R: After teasing fans on April Fool’s day that the movie would be rated PG-13, Ryan Reynolds and the Deadpool team revealed in a viral video that the movie would be officially rated R.

  • George RR Martin developing new HBO show: Martin is developing a show called Captain Cosmos, which has the description of “At the dawn of the age of TV in 1949, a visionary young writer creates a science fiction series that tells stories no one else will dare to tell”
  • Machete Kills Again…in Space filming this year: Seemingly a joke at the end of Machete Kills, Danny Trejo revealed that Machete Kills Again…in Space is actually going to film this year.
  • New Muppet Show may be on the way: ABC is apparently getting a reboot of The Muppet Show underway with Bill Prady, co-creator of The Big Bang Theory, and Bob Kushell, of the FX show Anger Management, executive producing.
  • Directors announced for new Toho Godzilla: Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi will direct the new Godzilla movie coming out of the original Godzilla studio, Toho.  Between them, they have worked on anime like Neon Genesis Evangelion. Gareth Edwards is directing the sequel to last year’s Godzilla reboot.
  • Cigarette Smoking Man and Walter Skinner back for X-Files: Two iconic side characters are returning for the rebooted X-Files as William B. Davis will return as the mysterious Cigarette Smoking Man and Mitch Pileggi will return as FBI boss Walter Skinner.
