- Peter Berg directing Mark Wahlberg in “Mile 22”: The Lone Survivor team is reuniting for a new action movie, co-starring Ronda Rousey and The Raid’s Iko Uwais. Wahlberg stars as a CIA agent who has to transport an informant in Indonesia to the city’s airport but must fight through corrupt cops and the city’s gang.
- New Tomb Raider mini-series coming from Dark Horse: Based in the Tomb of Osiris/Guardian of Light series, Lara Croft and the Frozen Omen is coming in October and follows Lara as she has to collect a series of ancient ivory artifacts before a doomsday cult can collect them and end the world.
- Godzilla going to Hell in new IDW mini-series: Godzilla is facing his greatest challenge as he is transported to Hell in the upcoming IDW mini-series. James Stokoe, who drew the incredible Godzilla: Half Century War, is drawing the first issue of the mini-series.
- Fox developing a “Fatal Attraction” show: The latest movie turning into a TV series is Fatal Attraction, the Michael Douglas/Glenn Close thriller. The new show is a “reimagining” of the movie and will be an “event series” with more seasons possible if it does well.
- Michael Keaton and JK Simmons leave Skull Island: The King Kong prequel has lost two of it’s stars as both Keaton and Simmons have left the project. The start of shooting was pushed back and both actors have other commitments that would have interfered with the movie. Tom Hiddleston is still set to star.
- Power Rangers reboot plot revealed: The upcoming Power Rangers reboot will feature the five original Rangers, Jason, Kimberly, Zach, Billy and Trini as they discover the power coins of the original Rangers and must come together as a team to fight Rita Repulsa, who is gathering gold across the Earth to rebuild Goldar. The Rangers will all be around 16 and have slightly tweaked backstories and relationships with each other.
- Star Trek 3 title revealed: Director Justin Lin revealed in a first look tweet that the third Star Trek will be called Star Trek Beyond. It’s out next summer.
- Guillermo Del Toro no longer developing Justice League Dark: There was some shuffling with the DC movies earlier this week, with Vertigo titles like Sandman being moved to New Line but Justice League Dark, which will team up Constantine, Swamp Thing, Zatanna and Deadman, is staying at WB, though Guillermo Del Toro is no longer working on it.
- Guardians of the Galaxy 2 titled: Director James Gunn revealed that the next Guardians movie will be titled Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. It’s arriving in May 2017.
