Listen All Y’All It’s Star Trek Beyond (Trailer)

The trailer section of The Force Awakens this Friday is going to be almost as big a deal as the movie itself if all the gigantic summer blockbuster trailer we’ve gotten over the last week or so are any indication and the latest is the first trailer for Star Trek Beyond, the third film in the reboot series.  Justin Lin, of Tokyo Drift-Furious 6 directing fame, takes over from JJ Abrams, as he was slightly busy with some other sci-fi project, and this time it seems like the crew of the Enterprise are marooned on a strange alien world on the frontier of Federation space and they either need to repair the ship or get a new one and escape.  Idris Elba is the new alien enemy and Kingsman’s (and possible future Mummy) Sofia Boutella is an alien ally of the crew.  It looks like the banter is cranked to 11 and there’s some fun new pairings, like Spock and Bones, and the whole thing is set to Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage”.  I’ve seen lots of comparisons to Guardians on other sites and there are worse things to model yourself after.  Star Trek Beyond is hitting theaters in July next summer and you can check out the trailer below.
