Ra’s Al Ghul appearing on Legends of Tomorrow: Matt Nable will return to the CW DCverse as Ra’s Al Ghul during the Legends of Tomorrow mini-series, and current big bad Damien Darhk will appear as well. Vandal Savage, introduced during the Arrow/Flash crossover event, will be the main villain the ragtag group of heroes will be taking on throughout time.
Vixen will appear in live action on Arrow: Appearing in her own animated spin-off on the CW’s online Seed site, Vixen will come to the live action CW DCverse in the fifteenth episode of Arrow. Megalyn Echikunwoke, who voiced the character for the animated series, will play the character on Arrow, as Vixen aka Mari McCabe’s look was based on her.
Man in the High Castle renewed for a second season: Amazon’s sci fi/alternate history drama will return for a second season after the full season debuted to rave reviews about a month or two ago on the Instant Video service.
Divergent and Power Rangers pushed back: For 2017, there was a bit of shuffling as Lionsgate bumped the Power Rangers reboot from January to March of 2017 and took the spot occupied by the fourth and final Divergent movie, which moved into the summer againt World War Z 2.
Katherine Waterson starring in Alien: Covenant: The Steve Jobs and Inherent Vice star is starring in the next entry in the Alien series, Covenant. She’ll co-star with Michael Fassbender, who is returning as the android David.
Samuel L. Jackson returning for xXx sequel: Jackson will return as prickly NSA agent Gibbons for the upcoming xXx sequel, which brings back Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) from his apparent death in xXx: State of the Union.
Fargo Season 3 featuring an all new cast: Despite returning to the modern setting of Season 1, showrunner Noah Hawley confirmed that Season 3 of Fargo will feature an entirely new cast. The next season also won’t arrive until 2017.
Laurence Fishburne appearing in John Wick 2: Keanu Reeves is reuniting with his Matrix co-star for the highly anticipated sequel to John Wick. Laurence Fishburne was seen on set in Brooklyn during filming. The movie is coming out possibly next year and also co-stars Common, Bridget Moynahan, John Leguizamo, Peter Stormare, Ian McShane and Ruby Rose.
TNT announces cancellations: The cable network that knows drama announced that Legends, starring Sean Bean, Agent X and Public Morals have all been cancelled.
Hasbro Cinematic Universe announced: In addition to the Transformers cinematic universe they are developing, Paramount announced this week that they are creating another universe that will join together GI Joe, Micronauts, MASK, ROM the Space Knight and Visionaries, all toy lines from the 80’s.
Kiefer Sutherland playing the president in new ABC show: Kiefer will star in a new show on ABC called Designated Survivor, where he’ll play a lower level cabinet member who is forced into the presidency when an attack during the State of the Union address leaves him the highest ranking official. Simon Kinberg, who has produced the X-Men movies for Fox, is executive producing and the show got a straight to series order.
Mark Wahlberg confirms he’ll be back for Transformers 5: Wahlberg will return to the Tranformers universe as every day, normal inventor/single dad/intergalactic hero Cade Yeager for the upcoming fifth movie in the series. The actor confirmed during an interview for Daddy’s Home.
