Things Somehow Get Worse in Penny Dreadful Season 3 (Trailer)

Penny Dreadful was never a happy show but things have gotten so much worse for Vanessa Ives and the crew over the last two seasons and it doesn’t seem to be letting up in Season 3.  The core group trying to fight against the evils of the world, Vanessa (Eva Green), Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton), Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) and Victor Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway) are scattered after battling a coven of dangerous witches last season and Ethan is on his way to face justice in America while Vanessa locks herself in an asylum to try and battle the demons still trying to possess her.  The only pair doing well seems to be Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney) and Brona Croft (Billie Piper), who realize their shared immortality could give them the power to take over London, if not the world. The Creature (Rory Kinnear) is also lurking somewhere as well.   Joining the main cast next season are Wes Studi, a Native American who has ties to Ethan and Patti Lupone as Vanessa’s doctor in the asylum (LuPone appeared in one of the best episodes last season as Vanessa’s magical mentor, the Cut-Wife).  The new season starts on May 1st on Showtime and you can check out the trailer below.
