The Planchette is Back for Ouija: Origin of Evil (Trailer)
Despite being, by all accounts, terrible, the first Ouija movie made over $100 million at the box office, so we’ve got a sequel coming in October. Possibly trying to captialize on the superior Conjuring series, this Ouija movie is a prequel set in the 60’s and follows a single mom (Elizabeth Reaser) who run a scam seance business with her two girls. When she buys a Ouija board as a new prop in her act, youngest daughter Doris (Lulu Wilson) tries to contact their dead father but instead accidentally unleashes malevolent forces upon the family. The time setting and scares shown make it seem like it hopefully be an improvement over the original and there’s hope from the director as well, Mike Flanagan, who directed Hush and Oculus and may be the guy helming the new Halloween reboot for John Carpenter. Ouija: Origin of Evil is out on October 21st and you can check out the trailer below.
