Netflix Brings Some Unfortunate Events in January (Trailer)
After being unable to kickstart a movie franchise with the Jim Carrey led take on A Series of Unfortunate Events, Netflix is trying their hand at bringing Lemony Snicket’s book series to life in January, making it a new original series. Neil Patrick Harris stars as Count Olaf, who takes in the perpetually ill fortuned Baudelaire orphans in an attempt to steal the fortune left to them by their parents. The kids have to outsmart Olaf’s many schemes while unraveling the mystery of their parents death. Patrick Warburton plays author/narrator Lemony Snicket while actors like Joan Cusack, Don Johnson, Aasif Mandvi, Catherine O’Hara and Alfre Woodard guest star. Barry Sonnenfeld, who produced the movie version, is executive producing the show, which will be 8 episodes. It has a great looking “Wes Anderson filtered through Tim Burton” aesthetic and seems like it could be another winner for Netflix. Check out the trailer below and the series is out on Friday, January 13th next year.
