It’s that time of year again and the Everything Action crew is back to give you some ideas for kick ass gifts to give or receive.  First up, here’s some ideas from Zach.

Deadpool: Not only one of the best superhero movies of the year, but also one of the funniest movies of the year, Deadpool was an almost perfect translation of the Merc with the Mouth to the big screen with Ryan Reynolds pitch perfect timing and snark.

Marvel’s Civil War: Probably my favorite movie of the year, it’s an absolute blast seeing Marvel’s heroes battle each other and it introduces Tom Holland’s Spider-Man into the MCU, which is one of the many high points of this spectacular superhero slugfest.

The Dark Tower Box Set: Get ready for next year’s big screen adaptation starring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey by reading Stephen King’s full epic story of Roland the Gunslinger and his quest to stop his nemesis the Man in Black and reach the titular Dark Tower.

Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Thanks to a dimensional rift opened by Shredder and Klang, they arrive in Gotham City team with Batman’s rogues to take over both worlds but thankfully the TMNT follow them and team with The Dark Knight.  It’s a crazy team up that somehow works and is a ton of fun to read.

The Batman/Judge Dredd Collection: Speaking of crossovers, Batman and Judge Dredd have crossed over multiple times over the years and this excellent collection puts them all in one place.  Batman goes to Mega City One and Dredd heads to Gotham City in the various stories and one even features The Joker teaming up with Judge Death, which isn’t good for anyone.

Mars Attacks: If you want the complete set of Topps classic Mars Attacks cards but don’t have the room or inclination to hunt down all the individual cards, this book lets you have the whole set in a convenient package.  The cards are republished in gorgeous full page prints and you can see the entire crazy and hilariously gory story of the Martian invasion of Earth.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End: Uncharted 4 is a masterpiece and an incredible capper on the story of treasure hunter Nathan Drake.  Incredible set pieces, amazing voice acting, stunning graphics, if you or someone you know has a PS4 and doesn’t have Uncharted 4 yet, this is a must buy.

Ratchet & Clank: The movie was not very good unfortunately but the game based on the movie…based on the game is excellent.  A re-imagining of the original Ratchet game, the game follows the plot of the movie as Ratchet & Clank head to various planets and try and stop the combined evil forces of Chairmen Drek and Doctor Nefarious.  There’s some fantastic new weapons, the Pixelizer that turns everything 8 bit, along with old favorites like the Groovitron and Sheepinator.

Lego Dimensions: Although it came out last year, there’s all kinds of new things going on with Lego Dimensions that it’s still a great time to jump in.  The starter pack comes with Batman, Wildstyle and Gandalf and has a ton of stuff to do just by itself, with probably the most in-depth single player of any Lego game yet and three available, open world Adventure Worlds for each of the characters.  The game just introduced bigger “Story Packs” as well that are basically full add on games that go through the plot of various movies, Ghostbusters 2016 and Fantastic Beasts are out right now and Lego Batman is coming out with the movie next year.  Just the fact that you can have such crazy groups of characters from things like The Lego Movie, DC, Gremlins, The A-Team, Mission: Impossible, Ghostbusters and more running around together makes this game a blast.

Rick and Morty Total Rickall: Relive the classic Rick and Morty episode “Total Rickall” with this card game where you have to figure out which characters are real and which are horrible brain parasites.  There’s all kinds of crazy characters from the episode featured but, if you kill a real character, you’ll get penalized along with feeling overwhelming guilt.
