The Lego Ninjago Movie Trailer

The Lego Batman Movie is not the only movie we’re getting from the “Lego Cinematic Universe” this year as their crazy marital arts line Ninjago is heading to the big screen in September.  Dave Franco stars as Lloyd, whose father is a crazy warlord Garmadon (Justin Theroux) and he wants to take over the world with his army of evil ninjas and giant robots.  Luckily, Lloyd is also the Green Ninja and joins his fellow ninjas Cole (Fred Armisen), Nya (Abbi Jacobson), Jay (Kumail Nanjiani), Kai (Michael Pena), Zane (Zach Woods) and Master Wu (Jackie Chan), who have giant robots and martial arts skills of their own, including their patented Spinjitzu.  Charlie Bean, the showrunner of the criminally mishandled but excellent Tron: Uprising, is directing Ninjago in his feature film debut.  It feels like it has the same fast paced, irreverent humor of The Lego Movie but it’s not clear if there will be any crazy cameos from other WB/Lego characters or if they will stick to their own corner of the universe but it looks fun and funnny either way.  It’s out on September 22nd and you can check out the trailer below.
