First Look at SyFy’s Superman Prequel, Krypton
SyFy is getting into the superhero show arena with a prequel to Superman following Clark’s grandfather, Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe) as the House of El is engaged in a revolution against the tyrannical government that ruled the planet 200 years before Man of Steel (David Goyer is writing and he seems to be implying it’s in the DCEU). He falls in love with Lyta Zod (Georgina Campbell) and the pair have a sort of Romeo & Julietesque relationship as the House of El and the House of Zod do not see eye to eye. It looks OK and the setting is definitely taking cues from the crazy ass Krypton we saw at the beginning of Man of Steel where, among many things, Russell Crowe was flying around on a dragon and it looks like the plot might be similar to the intrigue/political maneuvering you get from the King’s Landing side of Game of Thrones. The show debuts sometime later this year and you can check out the trailer below.
