Musical Montage: Cars
The third entry in the Cars franchise arrives this Friday and, unlike the previous two entries, it doesn’t seem to have a cover song as it’s main single on the soundtrack, at least as far as I can tell. The new album features songs from Brad Paisley and others along with a score by Pixar’s go to composer, Randy Newman. Going back to the first two movies, the first cars featured a new, sort of lifeless version of “Life is a Highway” by Rascal Flatts, which was originally by Tom Cochrane, along with songs by the aforementioned Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow and a cover of Route 66 by John Mayer while Cars 2 featured Weezer covering, appropriately, “You Might Think” by The Cars. The Rascal Flatts and Weezer songs both have official music videos and you can check them out below.
