Sorkin Makes His Directorial Debut with Molly’s Game (Trailer)
After garnering acclaim by writing things like The West Wing, The Social Network, Moneyball and more, Aaron Sorkin wrote and makes his directorial debut with Molly’s Game. Based on the true story of Molly Bloom, played by Jessica Chastain, an Olympic-class skier who got involved in running illegal, underground poker games that got increasingly more high stakes and involved some of the most powerful and famous people in the world. Members of the Russian mob got involved and Molly was arrested by the FBI and she hires defense attorney Charles Jaffey (Idris Elba) to represent her while trying to protect the identities of her clients. Kevin Costner and Michael Cera co-star and it looks like Sorkin has cribbed some style choices from his former collaborator David Fincher, as it shares a similar look and feel to The Social Network. The movie is out on November 22nd and you can check out the trailer below.
