The Post Forms a Dramatic Voltron of Spielberg, Hanks and Streep (Trailer)
Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep are dramatic forces of nature by themselves but their powers combine for this winter’s The Post. Set in the 70’s during Watergate, Streep plays Katherine Graham, the head of The Washington Post and Hanks plays her editor Ben Bradlee and the movie follows their efforts to report on Nixon administration, the Vietnam War and the unfolding Watergate scandal, especially the efforts of Woodward and Bernstein and then facing off against the government in court when they are sued for their publishing of the Pentagon Papers report. An insane, murder’s row of supporting cast joins Hanks and Streep including Alison Brie, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Bruce Greenwood, Matthew Rhys, Bradley Whitford, Zach Woods, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons and David Cross. The movie is out in limited release on December 22nd for Oscar contention and then spreads wide on January 12th. Check out the trailer below.
