Musical Montage: Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts “The Photograph Kills”
In between chewing the scenery as the over the top SID 6.7 in 1995’s Virtuosity, Russell Crowe was using it for a music video for his band Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts. “The Photograph Kills” features Crowe in costume (and maybe in character?) as SID 6.7, wandering around the various locations and sets of Virtuosity while other clips from the movie are intercut and there’s a ton of the weird psychedelic thermal filter that was featured in the movie too. The song had a minor cameo in the movie as SID is in disguise as a repairman waiting to kidnap the daughter of Kelly Lynch’s Dr. Carter and the song is playing over the radio but it didn’t really have a presence on the charts and it wasn’t actually on the official Virtuosity soundtrack, which was more 90’s club jams and dance music.
