The Grinch Returns This November (Trailer)
The house that the Minions built, Illumination, is bringing back Dr. Seuss’ classic character The Grinch for a new take on the classic Christmas story. Benedict Cumberbatch voices The Grinch, who gets a new backstory about growing up in an orphanage that didn’t celebrate Christmas, which contributes to his hatred of that joyous season and, especially, the Whos down in Whoville who go all out. It also looks like there may be more about The Grinch’s preparations for his big holiday heist, including trying to capture a reindeer. The animation looks great and Cumberbatch seems to have got a better hold on an American accent than say, Black Mass or Doctor Strange, but any Grinch movie will always be held against the masterpiece of the Chuck Jones animated special and usually feel bloated and unnecessary in comparison. We’ll see how this one fares on November 9th and you can check out the new trailer below.
