When the SuperEarth needs protecting, no other hero is right for job besides Cyko KO, the stunt motorcyclist turned savior of the future! After Earth has become over polluted, a new colony is formed on a distance planet where humans had rebuilt. Naming this planet, SuperEarth, the inhabits live a new life but face new and strange challenges. Forced by his father, Mega KO, and his overseer, Kreskin, Cyko KO is tasked with stopping evil and staying out of trouble. In his latest adventures, Cyko is looking for some down time at Surf City, but one of his rivals, Cuda Cano, has also arrived and their competition heats up at the cool beaches. Cuda, a skillful pinball player and surfer, is the top dog at the beaches and isn’t afraid to show it. While Cyko seeks a chance to win over the beach crowds, Cuda has some sinister plans up his sleeves.
Creator Rob Feldman brings Cyko KO to Alterna comics in a three-issue run that promises to be a fun and silly comic experience. Each tales is an episodic adventure where Cyko KO, his partner Peachy Keen, their alien pet, Meemop, stopping evil villains where ever they go. Or when Cyko KO feels like it. Cyko KO is a family friendly throwback to the works of Hanna Barbera and Filmation. Fans of animated cartoon classics like Speed Racer, Scooby-Doo, Jabber Jaw, and The Herculoids can see Rob Feldman’s influence with his choice of designs and dialogue. Cyko KO is the reluctant hero who’s fourth wall breaking dialogue that pokes fun at the plot and tries his best to avoid doing his obligatory duties. He might look like a stern robot, but underneath that helmet is a pinball fanatic, motorcycling speeder looking for a chill time.
Comic fans looking to add some retro comedy to there comic selections should check out Cyko KO for it’s nostalgic nods to some great classics and some wacky visuals. There aren’t too many comics released this year that has good versus evil set at a surf contest. Rob Feldman has been working on Cyko KO since 2015, with a published 10 part mini-series on Webtoon and coloring book also released by Alterna comics. So before the comic hits stores this week, check out Cyko KO past adventures and get ready for a futuristic battle in the sands like no other.
