The Pull List – Predator: Hunters II #2

The Predator in the mountains of Afghanistan is stalking prey every night, his presence not only draws the attention of the Hunter team but military forces looking for an opportunity to collect alien technology. The Hunter team leader Jaya Soames is on a personal mission to prevent the Predator technology from falling into the wrong hands and leads her group to take on the Predator before anyone else can. Finding limited allies to help the Hunter team, the group of veteran soldiers finds themselves in a race against time, other armed forces, and one of the deadliest creatures stalking the galaxy.

Issue two of Predator: Hunters II dives into a Jaya Soames backstory for her fight against the Predators. In the previous story, Jaya was introduced as the latest warrior from a long line of family hunters that have taken on the Predators. The Soames family had become elite warriors to take on the Predators every few decades, studying their methods and repurposing alien technology. With so much at stake for the future of humanity, she cannot allow Predator technology to fall into the wrong hands.

This issue also does a great job of building up the location of the Afghanistan mountains. The local villagers that reside in the neighboring area of the Predator believe the alien is some form of a guardian dessert spirit, a Djinn. The invading Jihadi forces have been driven back by the Predator take it as a sign of protecting, unaware of the Predator’s true intentions. The stage is set for a grand clash of different powers fighting to be the deadliest forces. The next issue looks to bring the opposing groups into the silent and cold mountains ranges, where their differences will be settled by any means.
