Hellboy Omnibus Volume 4: Hellboy in Hell TPB

All of Hellboy’s adventure leads to one place. After saving the world from Nimue, the queen of all witches, Hellboy was killed and was dropped into the dark of territories hell. This omnibus volume contains the last remaining chapters of the main Hellboy narrative after Hellboy’s battle in 2011. In his journey through Hell, Hellboy meets old foes and allies that have come to welcome Hellboy to his new surroundings. He is lead to the heart of Hell, containing the city of Pandemounium, a once great kingdom that overlooked the realm. Pandemounium was guarded over by Hellboy’s family and is his birthright to take. As a descendant of a royal bloodline in Hell, Hellboy is both feared and respected in Hell. Some want to help Hellboy face his destiny, but many others look to stop him and claim power for themselves. But Hellboy is no stranger to that, years of people and demons with the same intentions has made Hellboy wise. Everything he has learned has taught him that nothing is what it seems, especially in Hell. 

Mike Mignola and Dave Steward bring a grand finale of action, horror, and suspense as Hellboy journey comes to a close. Hellboy’s origins had started in hell and poetically ends in Hell. Previous interconnected stories and past references come back to tie up loose ends and fulfill foreshadow events. More discoveries about Hellboy’s past explored and it creates increasingly dramatic tension in what Hellboy’s next actions will be. The story is gripping as new terrors come to find Hellboy, forcing him to closer to accepting his fate as the demon that ends the world. Hellboy temptation of power and greed will test everything he has come to embrace about his humanity.  Like the many folklores that have inspired Mike Mignola, the conclusion is somber but rewarding. The ending has a lasting impression will give the reader a brief moment to reflect long road Hellboy has traveled and what lies ahead for him.
