Claire Foy is The Girl in the Spider’s Web in November (Trailer)
The Crown’s Claire Foy is the latest to step into the computer hacking shoes of vigilante Lisbeth Salander for an adaption of the fourth book in the Millenium series by David Lagercrantz. A sequel to David Fincher’s take on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Spider’s Web is a soft-reboot directed by the fantastic Fede Alvarez, who previously brought us the Evil Dead remake and Don’t Breathe. This time around, Lisbeth Salander is drawn into investigating a terrorist attack that could have global implications but realizes it’s much more personal as her long-lost sister Camilla (Sylvia Hoeks) is the one pulling the strings. Luckily Lisbeth has some backup in Mikael Blomqvist (Sverrir Gudnason) and NSA agent Ed Neeham (Lakeith Stanfield). Alvarez seems to be taking things into a much more action-packed direction with set pieces that seem like they would more at home in something like Mission: Impossible, like a motorcycle racing across breaking ice or a sequence where Lisbeth is infiltrating one of Camilla’s facilities while Neeham takes out people with a .50 cal sniper rifle. The movie is out on November 9th and you can check out the new trailer below.
