The Pull List – Cyko KO! #2
In the latest adventure of Cyko KO!, the evil Chen has created his latest scheme to destroy his nemesis, actor Steven Machinaw. Chen was once a movie studio owner and hired Machinaw to be a stuntman, but a flop movie and an onset accident destroyed Chen’s reputation and turned himself into a villain. After a stunt gone wrong, Steven Machinaw is in a coma and Cyko KO is tasked with protecting his favorite movie star in the hospital. In an attempt to get revenge, Chen sends his robotic clone, Cy-Clone, to get close to the comatose Machinaw.
Issue two of Cyko KO! continues the whimsical and self-aware adventures of the pinball loving, motorcycle riding hero. Unlike some of his other missions, this particular assignment is something Cyko is taking very seriously. Being a huge fan of Machinaw, Cyko is overprotective instead of being the lazy and aloft to his duties. Along with Peachy Keen and their pet Meemop, the team is watching out for trouble in the hospital, but a mustache wearing, a robotic clone of Cyko somehow manages to slip past the guards.
Rob Feldman delivers a fun throwback to the silly retro cartoon adventures. The evil clone with a mustache gag is a great nod to the long-running evil double trope and makes perfect sense in the world of Cyko KO. There are plenty of wholesome action sequences and comedic dialogue to keep the reader engage in the story. Comic fans that are looking for a nostalgic trip to the past should check out the whacky adventure of Cyko KO!
