Nicole Kidman Goes True Detective in Destroyer (Trailer)

Garnering massive critical acclaim at various film festivals this year and already one of the major Oscar front-runners, Destroyer is arriving in December with an almost unrecognizable Nicole Kidman in the lead.  Kidman plays LAPD detective Erin Bell, who must face her past undercover with a brutal gang when the leader of the gang re-emerges.  Sebastian Stan, Toby Kebbell, Tatiana Maslany, Scoot McNairy, Bradley Whitford, and Toby Huss co-star and it’s directed by Karyn Kusama, who previously directed The Invitation, Aeon Flux and Girlfight.  As alluded to in this post’s title, I get a very True Detective vibe to Destroyer, both in the setting and look and Kidman’s character.  Destroyer is out on Christmas Day and you can check out the trailer below.
