La Llorona Stalks the Seventies in April (Trailer)
A figure of Mexican folklore, La Llorona is the latest horrific creature to arrive in theaters via producer James Wan. As the legend goes, La Llorona drowned her children and herself in fit of jealous rage but she returns to lure other children to their watery deaths. In the 1970s, a social worker, played by Linda Cardellini, is brought into a case where a mother accused of child endangerment claims La Llorona has returned and the social worker’s own kids become her next target. Michael Chaves, who will be directing The Conjuring 3, is directing The Curse of La Llorona, although it’s not part of The Conjuring Universe. The vibe is very similar and La Llorona’s look is close to what we’ve seen from demons like The Nun. The movie is out on April 19th next year and you can check out the trailer below.
