Captain Ginger: Bully is a preview of the next installment of the sci-fi adventure of humanoid cats in space. A short comic strip of Edgar Allan Poe is antagonized by a mischievous cat in Poe vs. the Black Cat by Hunt Emerson. And lastly, an article about strange quotes from celebrity autobiographies in When Stars Explore, written by Hart Seely and illustrated by Frank Cammuso.
Dragonfly and Dragonflyman: Police Crackdown explores the past adventures of these two heroes and their contrast to upholding the law. Before two identical dragonfly caped crusaders swapped places in The Wrong Earth, they patrolled the streets fighting for justice. On Earth-Alpha, Ricard Fame is the Dragonflyman. Fame is the mild-manner and the upstanding hero that is beloved by the citizens of Fortune City. On Earth-Omega, Richard Fame is the Dragonfly. Fame is a violent and cruel vigilante that is feared by every one of Fortune City. They are the same person, but they have two radically different ideas of how to be a hero.
Fans of The Wrong Earth are treated to see the past events that showcase Dragonflyman and Dragonfly’s approach to crime fighting. The campy and peaceful Dragonflyman is cheery about his role as Fortune City’s protector, while the gritty Dragonfly walks the morally grey areas to complete his goals. Earth-Alpha is a light-hearted world, where everyone follows some semblance of order, even with the criminals. Earth-Omega is a complex world where good and evil are often the same. This was an excellent story that builds up both characters and highlights the great differences in each universe’s style and tone.
Captain Ginger: Bully follows the events of Captain Ginger traveling back to the spaceship Indomitable with Sergeant Mittens and Deena. While pasting the time, Captain Ginger gets lost in a memory of his past. This memory reveals a moment of his time as a scavenger kitten. The young Ginger was fighting for survival aboard a chaotic period on the Indomitable. This entry to Captain Ginger delves into the captain’s past and how it affects his standing with his crewmate Sergeant Mittens. The two had fought for control in the previous story, which now shows their rivalry begun in their youth. It is exciting to see this advance forms of cats retain their animalistic behaviors, even if they walk on two legs and fly starships.
