Vita Ayala mixes up Xena’s adventure takes her and Gabrielle from the familiar lands of Greece with the bitter Discord. Powerless but still reckless, Discord is a torn in Xena’s side. Xena and Gabrielle take turns to make jabs at Discord for her behavior but they must learn to work together if they want to return to Greece. It’s an interesting dynamic with the group that shows off the strength of Xena and Gabrielle and their tolerance with Discord.
Jordi Pérez artwork comes off as cheerful. Discord is given a fun arrogant expression. A smug look that a powerful goddess would have, even with the loss of her divinity. Every few pages there is great excitement where Xena springs into action. Xena and Gabrielle are cautious of their colorful surrounds and are quick to ready their weapons.
Issue three sets the story to bring Xena and her allies into a journey that will have her explore the world. Greece is now miles away from the group and the only way back home is taking more risk. The creative team behind the comic are preparing for more thrilling perils for the heroes in the next issue.
