Gaze Upon The New Cats, Ye Mortals, And Despair (Trailer)

Director Tom Hooper has been working on a cinematic version the beloved musical Cats for years now and it’s finally arriving this Christmas.  The first trailer has dropped and…my god…the horror.  Hooper has turned his all-star cast into fully digital cat people and the results are, in my opinion, absolutely horrific.  Like, beyond Will Smith as the Genie by miles.  The cast is pretty insane with Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift, Idris Elba, Jason Derulo, James Corden, Judi Dench, newcomer Francesca Hayward, Ian McKellan, Ray Winstone, and Rebel Wilson but, again, they are all now horrifying cat people.  Hudson seems like she’s going to be more than able to belt out the musical’s songs, like “Memory” and it seems to be doing something interesting with the sets as well, making everything seem gigantic because the cat people are really just supposed to be regular alley cats.  The movie is out on December 20th and you can check out the trailer below.
