Timothee Chalamet Claims the Crown in The King (Trailer)
Netflix is pulling in some heavy hitters in front of and behind the camera this coming fall to try and weather the storm of Disney+ and one of their projects is the star-studded historical epic, The King. Timothee Chalamet stars as Henry V, who reluctantly returns from living among the people to take up the crown after his father dies. The young king has to quickly learn how to navigate the politics and war that was left in his father’s wake. Joel Edgerton, Sean Harris, Robert Pattinson, Ben Mendelsohn, and Lily-Rose Depp co-star and the movie is directed by David Michod, who previously directed Animal Kingdom, The Rover, and War Machine, is directing the movie and he also co-wrote the movie with Edgerton. The vibe I’m getting is like if A24 made a version of Braveheart, with a washed-out and realistic visual style but still with some epic looking battles. The movie will be in select theaters and streaming on Netflix sometime this fall and you can check out the trailer below.
