Sonic is New and Improved in the New Sonic the Hedgehog Trailer
When the first trailer for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog debuted about 6 months ago, the internet collectively vomited in terror onto their monitors and Paramount actually noticed and vowed to go back and change Sonic’s design from the horrific monstrosity they unleashed on the world. Now, we have a new trailer and Sonic has a new design that is much closer to the Blue Blur we all know and love. Ben Schwartz is voicing Sonic, who leaves his planet to escape people trying to steal his powers and hides on Earth. When he accidentally causes a massive blackout, it draws government forces led by Dr. Ivo Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and also a local cop named Tom (James Marsden). Tom and Sonic reluctantly team-up to keep Sonic’s powers out of Robotnik’s hands and a chase/road trip ensues. Jim Carrey feels like he’s really throwing back to his 90s heydey, which will hopefully be fun and the new look definitely helps make Sonic seem like a character we actually want to hang out with for 90-120 minutes and even the jokes seem better in this new trailer. We’ll have to wait until February 14th to see if all the changes helped make this into a decently fun movie and you can check out the new trailer below.
