It’s the Greatest Spanish Hero with The Neighbor on Netflix (Trailer)

Netflix and director Nacho Vigalondo, who previously brought us Timecrimes and Colossal, seem to be inspired, believe it or not, by a certain 80s superhero comedy with the upcoming series The Neighbor.  Based on the comic by Santiago García and Pepo Pérez, The Neighbor stars Quim Gutiérrez as Javier, a regular guy who is chosen by an alien to receive superpowers, which he uses to become a superhero named The Titan, mostly to impress his girlfriend.  There’s definitely seems to be a lot of The Greatest American Hero here, with Javier trying to figure out his powers and becoming a hero but with a much cooler and modern super suit and special effects.  The series arrives on Netflix on December 31st and you can check out the trailer below.
