Dave Franco Directs a Vacation Gone Wrong in The Rental (Trailer)

Dave Franco makes his directing debut next month with the IFC Films horror feature, The Rental.  Starring Alison Brie, Dan Stevens, Sheila Vand, and Jeremy Allen White, the movie finds two couples renting what seems like the perfect vacation house but, as is the case with pretty much every movie in this genre, things start to go horribly awry with the discovery that the house is rigged with cameras and a threatening figure in a mask begins to stalk them.  Toby Huss also co-stars and Franco co-wrote the movie with Joe Swanberg, whom Franco met while working on Easy for Netflix.  Swanberg directed the V/H/S segment “The Sick Thing That Happened to Emily When She Was Younger” back in 2012.  It seems like it should hopefully be an effective horror/thriller and a solid debut for Dave Franco.  The movie is out in theaters and VOD on July 24th and you can check out the trailer below.
