The Stand Returns on CBS All Access (Trailer)
One of Stephen King’s most epic stories outside of The Dark Tower series, The Stand is coming to CBS All Access in December as a new mini-series. The novel got a star-studded mini-series in the 90s with the likes of Gary Sinise, Rob Lowe, Miguel Ferrer, Ed Harris, Matt Frewer, and Molly Ringwald, and the new The Stand is equally star-studded with James Marsden starring as Stu Redman, one of the leaders of the Boulder Free Zone led by the kindly and good Mother Abigail (Whoopi Goldberg) while Alexander Skarsgard stars as the manifestation of pure evil that is Randall Flagg, who gathers an army of sinners and degenerates in Las Vegas. Both sides come together and rebuild after an apocalyptic plague wipes out most of humanity. Jovan Adepo, Greg Kinnear, Amber Heard, Odessa Young, Nat Wolff, Ezra Miller, Henry Zaga, and Owen Teague co-star and Josh Boone, who most recently directed The New Mutants, is behind the series. It looks solid and definitely more visually inventive than the previous miniseries, which was hampered by budget and content restrictions from 90s ABC. The series arrives on CBS All Access on December 17th and you can check out the trailer below.
