EA Commentary: A Nightmare on Elm Street
For the latest Everything Action Commentary, Zach and Chris are celebrating Halloween by watching the classic 80s slasher, A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Starring the iconic Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger, Heather Langenkamp as Nancy Thompson, and the film debut of Johnny Depp as Glenn and directed by the legendary Wes Craven, the first movie establishes the formula of Freddy terorizing a group of teenagers and trying to kill them when they fall asleep. The original is slightly more serious and Freddy isn’t quite all the way to the character that would become a pop culture icon with his over the top kills and one-liners but it’s still a fantastic horror movie classic. While watching the movie, the guys talk about how the movie fakes things out making it seem like Tina is the main character, the amazing practical effects, the Home Alone ending, the over the top alcoholism of Nancy’s mom and more. Find a copy of the movie and sync it up with the commentary below to watch along with the Everything Action Crew.
