Neil Marshall Returns to Horror for The Reckoning (Trailer)
Most recently directing the not well received Hellboy reboot and episodes of shows like Game of Thrones and Westworld, Neil Marshall is heading back to the genre that put him on the map with movies like The Descent and Dog Soldiers with the upcoming horror movie, The Reckoning. Set in 1665 during the Great Plague a young widow, Grace Haverstock (Charlotte Kirk), is accused of being a witch and put into the brutal custody of Judge Moorcroft (Sean Pertwee), who commits all manner of physical and emotional torture against Grace to try and draw out a confession. It looks like Marshall is leaning into his Game of Thrones experience for the setting and look and it definitely looks like it will have his brutal violence as well, maybe even too far into torture porn territory for a lot of people. It’s out in theaters, On Demand and Digital on February 5th and you can check out the trailer below.
