Joel McHale and Kerry Bishe’s Marriage Gets Weird in Happily (Trailer)

Joel McHale and Kerry Bishé find their happy marriage entering a strange and increasingly dark place in the upcoming movie Happily.  Tom (McHale) and Janet (Bishé) believe their marriage is fine but they get a visit from a mysterious man, played by Stephen Root, who tells them they have a “defect” and need to take an injection to make them more normal.  Janet freaks out and kills the stranger, which is right when they get invited out of town for a couples vacation with friends.  Things get even weirder at the vacation home, which has a room full of guns, among other things, and Tom and Janet have to pretend to be normal and figure out if anyone else knows about the injections or the “defects” they apparently have.  It seems like there’s going to some sort of big twist or more reveals than the trailer shows but it’s definitely intriguing and the cast is absurd as, along with McHale, Bishé and Root you have Paul Scheer, Natalie Zea, Natalie Morales, Jon Daly, Shannon Woodward, Breckin Meyer, Charlyne Li, Brea Grant and Kirby Howell-Baptiste.  The movie was written and directed by Bendavid Grabinski, who makes his feature directorial debut after writing stuff like the recent Are You Afraid of the Dark? reboot and Skiptrace with Jackie Chan and Johnny Knoxville.  The movie is out on March 19th in theaters, On Demand and Digital and you can check out the trailer below.
