Dev Patel Faces The Green Knight in July (Trailer)

One of the most highly anticipated movies of last summer, A24’s The Green Knight was unfortunately delayed due to the pandemic last year but we’ll finally get to see this incredible looking new vision for Arthurian legend this coming July.  Dev Patel stars as Sir Gawain, who accepts the challenge of the supernatural Green Knight (Ralph Ineson).  The Green Knight challenges Sir Gawain to strike him with one blow, which Gawain uses to behead the knight.  The Green Knight is not killed and tells Gawain that he must accept an equal blow in one year’s time.  In the time leading to the year deadline, Gawain goes on a journey where he encounters many strange sights and eventually comes to stay at the home of a lord and lady, who play their own game with Gawain.  Joel Edgerton, Alicia Vikander, Sean Harris, Barry Keoghan, Kate Dickie, and Sarita Choudhury co-star, and the movie is directed by David Lowery, who previously directed Ain’t Them Bodies Saints and Pete’s Dragon.  The movie is out on July 30th and you can check out the new trailer below.
